This classroom is about accepting one another, encouraging each other and learning together. We will show kindness, work hard, take risks, make mistakes and SHOW THE LOVE along the way! We are working TOGETHER to be the best we can be and appreciate all of God's creation around us!

We want to learn to be bucket fillers everyday in God's amazing world!

This year, our school theme is Tov: Cultivating Goodness. Tov is a Hebrew word meaning “good” or “beautiful,” and it is often used in the Bible to describe God’s creation and the things He calls purposeful and whole. Our guiding verse is Galatians 6:9-10: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

This theme flows naturally from last year’s focus on Imitating Christ. Together, we now turn our attention to how we can show Christ’s goodness in our daily lives. For children, cultivating goodness often begins in small but meaningful ways—through kind words, helping a friend, showing respect to a teacher, trying hard even when something feels difficult, or caring for God’s creation.

As a class, it is our hope that others will notice that we are showing love in all that we say and do as we explore, experience and evaluate the world around us. I look forward to the year ahead and can't wait to learn, share, laugh, maybe even cry and overall be real.  It's going to be a great!

A Little About Me!

My name is Mrs. Karen Lynn Miller. I have been teaching primary age children since 1995. This is my 23rd year teaching at Calvin Christian School but my 30th year teaching overall. Hard to believe.

As I have been educating for years now, I have to say I absolutely love working with children and seeing a spark ignite when they understand something new.  I also love how they teach me new things everyday.

I love Jesus! I became a Christian at 16 years of age and have never looked back. Best decision ever!

A few of my favourite things I'm grateful for include, my beautiful family, flower gardening, reading books, kayaking at sunset and spending time at the little, cozy cabin my Mom and Dad built when I was just 3 years old. God is so good to me.

I am married to Gary and have one beautiful daughter, Lauren, who graduated  from the University of Manitoba. She is now doing an after degree in Medical Radiologic Technology at RRCC. What? How can that be? I just taught her kindergarten (I really did too!) I also have a sweet 14 year old Yorkie named Belle. I'm one proud Mama.
